Lohri Celebrations

Lohri, a harvest festival  was celebrated at RPS International School Sec 50 Gurugram with a lot of enthusiasm and fervor.  Lohri marks the end of the winter season .Therefore, it is a seasonal festival. It is also considered a harvest festival and it is an important day for the farmers. Amidst the cold weather of new year 2020, the school staff experienced some respite as they were involved in a spirit of celebrating Lohri, the festival of holy bonfire. The School Principal Mrs. Bindu Gupta lit the fire. Everyone worshipped the holy fire and groundnuts and sweets were also distributed to all. After Poojan, everyone danced and sang around the bonfire. Giddha and Bhangra Dance was performed by the teachers. They sang the traditional song ”Dulla Bhatti Wala”.Entire campus boomed with ecstasy as the teachers celebrated Lohri and welcomed new year with a lot of exuberance and fanfare. National Mathematics Day Celebrated of class XI

Science students of class XI paid a befitting tribute to legendary mathematician, Srinivas Ramanujan on Sunday, the 22nd December 2019 i.e. National Mathematics Day. Under the able guidance of their equally enthused Mathematics teacher, Mr Ankit Tyagi the students solved challenging Sudoku and other Maths based puzzles which was followed by an exciting Vedic Maths Session. A cake was cut to celebrate the legend's birthday in real sense, conveying a profound message that the legend will live on 'till infinity'. The 5-hour exciting session was wrapped up by watching 'The Man Who Knew Infinity' based on the life of Shri Ramanujan. The day was indeed motivational in all sense for the students as well as teachers.

INTRA-RPS WISDOM QUIZ To commemorate foundation day of the State of Haryana,  RPS International School, Sector50  hosted an INTRA-RPS WISDOM QUIZ on Friday November 01. 2019. The Quiz aimed at creating awareness among the participants about the Vibrant Culture, History and Heritage of the State. The occasion was graced by the Academic Coordinator of RPSGOS, Mr. Vipin Sharma. Twenty seven enthusiasts (class VI - VIII) all RPS branches participated with full zeal and zest . The quiz competition was divided into several rounds including buzzer round, audio-visual round and rapid fire round to engage the students. The participants showcased their mental agility and presence of mind and handled variety of subjects confidently.

Yoga session for Teachers “The most important pieces of equipment you need for doing yoga are your body and mind.” The faculty at RPS International School, Sector 50 Gurugram used these equipments to the best in an invigorating and refreshing yoga session organised right in the morning. The Deptt. of Physical Education including Mr.Vijay Kumar, Ms. Pranu and Mr. Raj addressed the teachers on the importance of yoga and demonstrated some asanas to help the teachers remain fit and healthy. In addition to it, some heart strengthening tips were also given. The teachers performed various 'asanas' under the able guidance of these experts. It was a much needed session on how to keep fit and the teachers certainly made the best of it.
